17 Year Old Girl Has Died After Stubbing Each Other With Her Boyfriend In A Fight

A-17 year old pupil of Kitwe has died while her boyfriend is nursing wounds at Kitwe Teaching Hospital after the two had a fight and allegedly stabbed each other in a room at a lodge.

The young couple is reported to have booked a room at a lodge in Kitwe’s Nkana area today around 15:30 hours.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo has confirmed in a statement that after a short while of booking a room, a receptionist heard a woman screaming from the room whilst banging the door.

She said when the receptionist rushed to check on what was happening, the victim who came out naked opened the door and later fell facedown with multiple stab wounds on her back.

“Police officers who went to the scene found a body of the female victim laying in a pool of blood outside the room,” Katongo said.

She said the officers who inspected the scene also found her boyfriend naked and was laying facedown in a pool of blood in the bathroom.She said the female victim was in an unconscious state while the man was still conscious.

And Katongo said the couple was rushed to the Kitwe Teaching Hospital where the man is receiving medical attention in the ICU while the female victim was pronounced dead upon arrival.

She said police have withheld the name of the female victim but is reported to be a pupil who was in Kitwe’s Zambia Railways Compound on holiday visiting her relatives.

Meanwhile, Katongo said the body is in Kitwe Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem and burial.
