ACC Detain Bowman Lusambo Without Charging Him

THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has detained Kabushi Member of Parliament Bowman Lusambo at Ridgeway police post without a charge.
And Mr Lusambo said as long as the International Monetary Fund remains in the country, Zambians will continue to suffer.
This comes after the Commission recorded a warn and caution statement from Mr Lusambo for alleged possession of properties suspected to be proceeds of crime.
ACC spokesperson, Queen Chibwe said Mr Lusambo was summoned to appear in connection with investigations which border on allegations.
And shortly after the interviews which lasted for about seven hours, Mr Lusambo’s lawyer Makebi Zulu said his client has been detained pending questioning which will continue tomorrow.
He said Mr Lusambo has not yet been charged yet.
And speaking to journalists while handcuffed, Mr Lusambo was heard saying that his summoning by the ACC is persecution by government.
“The IMF (The International Monetary Fund) is still there and we shall continue suffering, all this you are seeing is persecution by President Hakainde Hichilema,” he said as he was whisked away by some officers.
