ACC seizes properties worth K22.8 million belonging to former Lusaka Province Minister, Bowman Lusambo

THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has seized properties worth over 22 million Kwacha belonging to former Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo.

The said properties are suspected to be proceeds of crime.

ACC spokesperson Queen Chibwe  said the properties seized are plot F/609/E/44/B/3, F/609/E/44/B/4, F/609/E/44/B/5, F/609/E/44/B/6, F/609/E/44/B/7, F/609/E/44/B/8 and F/609/E/44/B/9 and subdivision 50 at farm E of farm No. 609.

She said properties are located in Lusaka’s Chamba Valley area.

“The said properties were acquired and constructed by Mr Lusambo using suspected proceeds of crime and the Commission reasonably believes and suspects that the properties are still registered in another person’s name,” she said.

Mrs Chibwe said the seizure is in accordance with Section 58(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act of No. 3 of 2012.

She said the seized properties are in connection with an ongoing investigation.

Mr Lusambo was recently arrested by the Commission for being in possession of properties suspected to be proceeds of crime worth US $ 378,000.

“The Commission wishes to call upon members of the public to report any one in  possession of properties suspected of being proceeds of crime and a reward will be given upon a successful recovery,” she said.
