Lukulu Apostolic members baptise each other in insults

RATHER than baptising each other with water in accordance with the teaching of their faith, Apostolic Church members in Lukulu traded insults over the weekend.

Trouble began when a splinter group that has ditched the New Apostolic Church because it does not agree with the church’s tolerance for gay marriages and female preachers, went to worship at New Apostolic Church, Namayula Congregation.

On arrival, the group that is now identifying itself as the True Apostolic Church found their ‘sinful’ former brothers and sisters in the Lord occupying the building.

Fearing to be polluted by the “unbiblical” practices of their colleagues, the True Apostolic Church members tried to expel the group from the church.

After failing to exorcise each other from the church premises, the two groups of believers tossed away their Bibles and the mouths that moments ago, were reciting memory verses started to spit out more insults than one could hear in the local stadium section occupied by a combination of Nkana, Kitwe United and Patriotic Front supporters.

The commotion eventually got the attention of Lukulu Police officers who arrived in time to save the ear drums of surrounding community members from being perforated by the first grade Lozi insults being broadcast by the Christians.

Six people, three from either side were arrested at the scene and charged with conduct likely to breach the peace.
