Bowman Lusambo Cancels His Leave To Intensify Covid-19 Compliance In The City Of Lusaka

Lusaka Minister Bowman Lusambo has called off his leave which was supposed to run upto late January to intensify measures to fight the spread of Covid-19 in the city of Lusaka

He Writes:

Today I have called off my annual leave which was to go until late January in order to come and intensify the fight against Covid-19 in Lusaka Province.

As head of all government programmes, I would be irresponsible to continue relaxing with my family when the pandemic is ravaging us all.

I wish to extend my deep condolences to those that have lost their dear ones to this virus. We have since relaunched our multi sectoral efforts aimed at doubling our efforts across Lusaka to fight Covid-19.

To demonstrate our efforts, together with other government departments, we went round business houses and public buses inspecting levels of compliance to Covid-19 prevention protocols and distributed thousands of free masks to our people.

From today, everyone in Lusaka Province who is venturing out should wear a mask and wearing a mask on public buses is mandatory and should be adhered to at all times.

I further call upon all business houses to join this fight by ensuring that anyone who enters their premises without a mask should not be served. Together we can win the fight against Covid-19.
