Chellah Tukuta Denied Bail

High Court Judge Lameck Mwale sitting as Lusaka Chief Resident Magistrate has refused to grant jailed photographer, Chellah Tukuta bail pending appeal.

Judge Mwale says Tukuta’s imprisonment was well grounded. This is in a matter is in which Tukuta was jailed for two years for defaming Former Minister Of Information And Broadcasting, Dora Siliya.

Tukuta had accused the former minister of hooking up girls for high profile people like Ministers and Permanent Secretaries.

In his appeal, he informed the court that his appeal had chances of succeeding and that he would have served a substantial part of his sentence if he is not released on bail.
