Chingola Businessman Robbed At His Residence

POLICE on the Copperbelt province are looking for five criminals armed with four pistols and an AK47 rifle in Chingola.

Copperbelt province acting deputy Commanding Officer Tresphord Kasale said the first incident follows the robbery which happened on Monday at around 19:00 hours at Kazenene flats in Chingola.

He said Patel Abudunar aged 47, a director at NR hardware and supplies reported that five unknown criminals who were on foot armed with four pistols and an AK 47 rifle attacked him at his residence when he drove in from Kasumbalesa where he conducts his businesses.

Mr Kasale said the criminals ordered Mr Abudunar to come out of the vehicle after which they robbed him of undisclosed amount of money.

He said the criminals fired two shots as they were leaving and they later walked for about 1km along Nile road.

Mr Kasale said the criminals further proceeded and robbed Regina Lubumbe aged 40 of Daghamaskjort of her motor vehicle, a Toyota Allion silver in colour registration number BCD 2701.

He said the incident happened while she was reversing onto Nile road, when the criminals fired two shots in the air and used the same vehicle to run away from the scene.

“The Scene of crime was visited and two empty cartridges of an AK 47 were picked from the first scene at Kazenene flats and upon searching through the road up to the second scene where a motor vehicle was stolen, one live ammunition was picked and five meters away from where the ammunition was picked a trail of blood stains was observed indicating that one of the criminals was injured in the process.

He said wiitnesses were interviewed and they confirmed what the two complainants had stated.

Mr Kasale said dockets of cases have been opened and investigations instituted into the matter.
