Chipangali Member of Parliament Vincent Mwale has partnered with the community in the constituency to build four secondary schools.

Mr Mwale, who is also Housing and Infrastructure Development minister, said the projects that are at various construction stages are aimed at increasing the number of secondary schools in the constituency.

He said the secondary schools that are in Mnukwa, Chitandika, Tamanda and Chipangali sub-centres will help learners who travel long distances to access secondary education.

Mr Mwale said once the schools are completed, it will be very easy to keep both girls and boys in school for them to get educated.

He said the area has high numbers of early marriages because of limited secondary school spaces.

Mr Mwale was speaking when he toured the construction works at Mnukwa Day Secondary School and Chiziye Secondary School yesterday.

Mnukwa Day Secondary School headteacher Reuben Nawa Muyano says the construction of one by four classroom block will gobble K952, 000 and that the area MP has already donated 150 pockets of cement and over 1,000 blocks.

And Chiziye Secondary School headteacher Tryson Banda said the school management will remain grateful to Mr Mwale and the local people for the support.
