EMMANUEL Jay Banda has declared that he will challenge Dora Siliya as an Independent parliamentary candidate for Petauke Central Constituency in the coming general election.
Addressing journalists in Lusaka, Banda said people in the constituency had been crying for change of a representative but they have been ignored.
Banda said he would remain loyal and support President Edgar Lungu’s candidature but also battle it out with Siliya. The PF has adopted incumbent Siliya to recontest the seat.
“I am happy with the outcome of the PF adoptions but I know I was left. That is not the end of my political career, I will stand as an independent,’’ said Banda. ‘’The people of Petauke that I want to represent have cried for so long for the member of parliament who should represent them well, but those who have the power of adoptions have not listened.
Now the cry for my people is over, I am coming in three months’ time as Petauke Central constituency MP.”
