Lusaka Man Injures Own Baby While Trying To Hits His Wife
A 29-year-old man in Lusaka has been arrested for assaulting his 2-months-old daughter.
Don Musonda allegedly hit the baby with an elbow while fighting with the mother.
Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga disclosed in a statement issued to the media today that incident which left the baby with fractured ribs and bruises on her left side of the body happened around 21:00 hours on 30th last month.
“Police in Lusaka have arrested M/Don Mwenda Musonda aged 29 of Ibex Hill Meanwood for allegedly assaulting his two months old female child,” he said.
“It is alleged that on 30th January, 2022 at around 21 hours, the couple was fighting and in the process the father hit the baby with an elbow who sustained fractured ribs and bruises on her left side of the body.”
Hamoonga said the baby is admitted to Levy Mwanawasa Teaching Hospital receiving treatment whilst the suspect is in police custody.
