MAN IN HOSPITAL AFTER ELEPHANT ATTACK

A 47-year-old man of Lumezi District is currently nursing wounds in Chipata Central Hospital after being attacked by an elephant.

The incident occurred last week on Saturday when the victim who was visiting the area for a first time decided to visit a nearby village in Chief Kazembe’s area.

Department of National Parks and Wildlife Area Warden for East Luangwa Area Management Unit, Erastus Kancheya has advised people visiting game management areas for the first time to always ask for information from local people on how they co-exist with wild animals before making any movements.

Mr. Kancheya told Breeze FM News that some areas have a high number of wild animals, hence the need for people to avoid movements.
