Police Arrest Two Zambian Men Of Indian Origin For Assault

FOLLOWING a video which went viral depicting a man being undressed and beaten by three men, police have arrested the suspects behind the same.
Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said the three Zambian men of Indian origin have been arrested for assaulting their worker.
Mr Hamoonga identified the suspects as Ikram Bux 34 of Manchinchi Road Lusaka, Abdul Matini Saiyed 27 of Kasangula Road Lusaka and Nadat Zakki Mohammed 37 of Longacres in Lusaka for the offence of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm (AOBH) Contrary to Section 248 CAP 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
He said the police saw the assault incident on a video that went viral on social media.
Mr Hamoonga said November 3 this year, between 20:00 hours and 23:50 hours Nadat Zakki Mohammed at House number 18 Mambilima Road in Rhodespark of Lusaka invited the other two accused to assist in interrogating his worker Male Moshin Sidat 27 of Kamwala Residential area who he accused of stealing undisclosed amount of money.
He said the trio undressed him and tied his arms and started wiping him all over the body, making him sustain lacerations all over the body.
“The matter came to the attention of the Police after a video was circulated on social media platforms. The accused persons have since been charged and arrested for the subject offence.They will appear in Court soon,” Mr Hamoonga said.
