Police Take Down Opposition Billboards

Police in Monze District in Southern Province have pulled down posters, chitenge materials and billboard portraying opposition UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema ahead of President Edgar Lungu’s visit today .

Meanwhile, Leader of the opposition Jack Mwiimbu and Mazabuka Central Member of Parliament Gary Nkombo have vowed not to attend any meeting by President Edgar Lungu as he tours Southern Province.

Mr. Mwiimbu says the President’s trip is against the Covid – 19 guidelines regarding mass gatherings.

The duo has also expressed displeasure on the alleged conduct of the police to remove all materials showing UPND President Hakainde Hichilema in the province.

President Lungu is in Southern Province for a three day working visit.
