STATEMENT ISSUED BY SHEBBY CHILEKWA’S LAWYERS

It has come to our attention that fake news/reports of a photo, whose authenticity is unverifiable, depicting 2 unknown persons is circulating on social media suggesting that the person in plain clothes is Shebby Chilekwa.

The same should in no way be mistaken for truth and should be disregarded as it is a ploy to prejudice our client.
The family and relatives of our client seek only justice in this matter to the extent that if the police have any cause to believe that there may have been wrong doing on the part of our client, he should be subjected to a fair process as guaranteed by law.

This fair process includes access to his lawyers and freedom from torture.
