Unza Students Protest Demanding Dismissal Of Vice Chancellor

UNIVERSITY of Zambia students this morning staged a peaceful protest demanding for the dismissal of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Luke Mumba for alleged poor management of the school system.

The students who were led by the University of Zambia Students Union (UNZASU) President Gabriel Banda took to the great East Road while singing various songs in local language calling for the removal of Professor Mumba.


And speaking when he addressed his fellow students, UNZASU President said some of the conditions for the students to write the examinations will include the firing of Professor Luke Mum and his management,
He also noted the need for all students that were ommited on bursaries to be included failure to which Higher Education Loans Scholarship Board Chief Executive Officer Ms Irene Chirwa must be fired.


He said the other condition is that all students weather registered or not will have to sit for the examination.
He further bemoaned the continued outage of power in the Campus every Friday to Sunday.

Meanwhile, the police managed to block the peaceful protesters and escorted them back to campus where they were addressed by their area Member Of Parliament Hon Mike Mposha.
