President Edgar Lungu says he is looking forward to renew his Presidential contract with the Zambian people in the 12th August, 2021 General Elections.
President Lungu made the remarks during the commissioning of the Kazungula Bridge in Southern Province, where he was joined by Presidents of Botswana Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Congo DR.
He says the project which comprises a bridge across the Zambezi River and the one stop border facility on Zambia and Botswana sides bears testimony of the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries.
President Lungu has paid special tribute to late President Michael Chilufya Sata and former President of Botswana for their visionary leadership which set the foundation for the joint bridge project.
He says given an opportunity, his government will continue to channel efforts towards enhancing the wellbeing of the Zambians through investment in strategic infrastructure to ensure the country is well linked internally and externally.
Mr. Lungu adds that the Kazungula Bridge is a critical milestone in the transformation of Africa as aspired for in the African Union agenda.The bridge will be operating up to 22 hours daily.
